Description

Joe Biden was a career politician who served as senator from Delaware. He twice sought the Democratic presidential nomination before being elected as vice president in the Obama Administration.  Biden oversaw the infrastructure spending aimed at counteracting the Great Recession.  His ability to negotiate with congressional Republicans helped bring about tax relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and the Job Creation Act of 2010.  Joe Biden experienced great personal tragedy when, in 1972, his wife and daughter were killed in an auto accident and again when his son Beau died of cancer in 2015.  The loss of his son was responsible for Biden’s decision not to run for president in 2016.  Just before leaving office he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.

This U.S. Vice President Joe Biden History Mug is part of our U.S. Vice Presidents Series which includes all of the US Vice Presidents.

The biographical History Mugs were created to teach and inspire individuals to learn about our diverse and interesting history.  The biographies were researched and written by history enthusiast, Robert Compton.  He colorized most of the historic photos and images used on the mugs, which were originally black and white or sepia-tone.  The images and biographies are imprinted on mugs at his studio in rural Vermont.
