The Continental Congress met between 1774 – 1781. After the Articles of Confederation went into effect in 1781, it became the Confederation Congress.  These were the governing bodies of the United States during the American Revolution. George Thatcher was a representative from Massachusetts and sat in the First Federal Hall during the Confederation Congress.
