Description
Dr. Samuel Fuller left England on the Mayflower in 1620. He left his wife and daughter behind (they joined him later). He took with him his indentured servant William Butten. Dr. Fuller’s brother, Edward Fuller, and his wife and son, also named Samuel Fuller, were also on the Mayflower. Edward died at Plymouth and Dr. Fuller became the guardian of Edward’s son Samuel. Dr. Samuel Fuller had a son born in 1629 who was also named Samuel. Dr. Fuller aided colonists in Salem and Charlestown, he was a respected church deacon and physician for Plymouth Colony.
The Mayflower
The Mayflower left England in September 1620 with 102 men, women and children bound for Virginia. After 65 days they arrived far north of their preferred destination. They created a government on arrival forming the Mayflower Compact, which stated the colonists would create “laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices…,” follow their Christian faith, work together for the common good, and be loyal subjects to King James.

The biographical History Mugs were created to teach and inspire individuals to learn about our diverse and interesting history. The biographies were researched and written by history enthusiast, Robert Compton. He colorized most of the historic photos and images used on the mugs, which were originally black and white or sepia tone. The images and biographies are imprinted on mugs at his studio in rural Vermont.
