Description
Isaac Newton developed the groundwork for modern physics. His most acclaimed work, Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica was published in 1687. He theorized that light was composed of partials and white light was a composite of all the colors of the spectrum. Knighted in 1705 by Queen Anne, he was forever known as Sir Isaac Newton.
In 1668 Isaac Newton built the first practical reflecting telescope. He formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation which state that two objects attract each other with a force of gravitational attraction proportional to their masses.
This Isaac Newton History Mug is part of our Science & Inventors series which includes many unique individuals who shaped our world through their actions.
The biographical History Mugs were created to teach and inspire individuals to learn about our diverse and interesting history. The biographies were researched and written by history enthusiast, Robert Compton. He colorized most of the historic photos and images used on the mugs, which were originally black and white or sepia tone. The images and biographies are imprinted on mugs at his studio in rural Vermont.
