Description
Peter Browne was from Dorking, Surrey, England. He married the widow Martha Ford about 1626. After her death, he married Mary (maiden name unknown) about 1631, with whom he had a daughter named Rebecca and another child whose name is unknown. Peter and his brothers were all weavers. When he died he had eight sheep, which was more than anyone else in Plymouth.
The Mayflower
The Mayflower left England in September 1620 with 102 men, women and children bound for Virginia. After 65 days they arrived far north of their preferred destination. They created a government on arrival forming the Mayflower Compact, which stated the colonists would create “laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices…,” follow their Christian faith, work together for the common good, and be loyal subjects to King James.

The biographical History Mugs were created to teach and inspire individuals to learn about our diverse and interesting history. The biographies were researched and written by history enthusiast, Robert Compton. He colorized most of the historic photos and images used on the mugs, which were originally black and white or sepia tone. The images and biographies are imprinted on mugs at his studio in rural Vermont.
